Simply stunning conversion of an old farm building completed in the most sympathetic and superb way imaginable with beautiful detailing throughout like exposed wooden frame with wood peg joints, striking high ceilings which just look so handsome lit up and the highest grade fixtures and fittings possible. No room in this annex disappoints! On top of that the property is located away from the road in a charming, peaceful setting upon private grounds accessed via a private driveway located to the edge of the village. Steeped in history the property forms part of a site upon which the dwellings used to be encompassed by a small Moat, although all that remains of this is a slight trace of a depression within the ground around the houses.
This property represents an extremely rare rental opportunity for the right person who truly appreciates the quality of the property, and is looking for a quiet bolt hole to escape to! It comprises; Sitting room with beautiful exposed wooden frame work, high ceilings and wood burning stove which makes a fabulous centrepiece and emits a gorgeous warmth for those chilly winter evenings and travertine flooring which extends throughout the whole of the ground floor of the house, large kitchen/dining room with wooden shaker style fitted kitchen with solid wood block tops offering plenty of preparation and storage space, including built in cloak cupboard and hand built kitchen table to match and offering access to the rear garden should the tenant desire. The inner hallway leads down to the wet room with full travertine tiling throughout, walk in shower and wood built vanity unit with marble top and the lit stairwell leads to the double bedroom located in the eaves of the building above.
The property comes with allocated parking available to the private courtyard shared with the neighbouring Grade 2 listed home, garden (if so desired) and is fully inclusive of council tax and utilities and wood for the stove.
Swaffham Prior is rich in its history, mentioned in the Doomsday Book as Great Swaffham with many properties in the village dating back through the last few centuries, with the 17th century featuring most prominently. Located in South East Cambridgeshire, about 5 miles west of Newmarket (Suffolk) and 10 miles North East of Cambridge, there is a regular bus service through the village between Cambridge and Newmarket and Cambridge and Soham.
The village has a good community spirit with The Red Lion public house and a picturesque Village Hall which hosts many get-togethers such as feasts and fetes, etc. and is famous for its two churches and for its two windmills which stand as iconic symbols of the village. Just down the road to the East is the Devil`s Dyke; an ancient earthwork. This provides good walking opportunities with views across the surrounding countryside and has some interesting plants growing on it. Swaffham Prior sits next to the well served village of Burwell which includes Post Office, Co-Op, butchers, hair dressers and so much more. The Burwell Community Sports Centre also offers a wide range of activities.
